Hole in 1...no make that 2

Walls!  Holes in two walls!  Put there by none other than Jeremiah of course.  And as soon as I saw them, I knew exactly what he used to put them there.  An umbrella.  Yep, and umbrella. It was one that I had scolded him about several times.  You see, I tried to be a "cool" mom by setting up a small Mickey Mouse patio table in their room since they have a beach theme going on in there.  I even set up the umbrella that goes in the center of the table which has three sections that snap together.  The very bottom section come to a point at the end (which by the way is ridiculous and dangerous to have on a CHILD's patio set).  I found Jeremiah wielding that piece like a sword on a few occasions and had already made the executive decision to remove the fun item from their room--even at the risk of losing my "cool" mom status.  With that being said, I was obviously too late.  All I could do was glare angrily at my son who was shielding himself as if I my look were setting him on fire.  And if looks could kill, I'm afraid that everyone in a 20 mile radius would have been goners.  Just saying.

Bedroom Wall
Bedroom Wall

Just outside of the bedroom in the hall
I would probably be blogging this somewhat calmly by now except that I found another wall that had been assaulted by a "sword" wielding three year old.  That would be the hall wall just outside of their bedroom door.  So now I am sitting here stewing as I take out my frustrations on the poor keys on my laptop.  I'm calculating cost of supplies to fill the holes and wondering if I can trust Jeremiah to fill them properly.  I suppose the one good thing that I can think of at the moment that has come of this would be that I can no longer put off painting their room like I have been for the past year and a half.  Time to make get decisive and choose paint colors.  I just wish it didn't take this incident to light a fire under ME.  *sigh*Latest shenanigans brought to you by The Hartz Crew

Spontaneous Combustion: Signs and Symptoms?

I'm curious to know if there are any signs and/or symptoms that would give warning to spontaneous combustion.  If you know of any, please feel free to leave a comment below as I believe I might need to be on the look out thanks to Jeremiah.  Everyone button of mine has been pushed, and I am sure that there were several button casualties along the way as they were pushed so severely that there was no hope of recovery.  As for my sanity, well, may it rest in peace.  I'd list all the things that have occurred today to get me to this point, but I would like to leave my computer sometime in the next week so I won't.  Let's just say that my sweet Jeremiah is a go getter who goes all out in everything he does...including disobeying.

I should probably go lay in the snow and cool off as a precautionary measure.

Out with the Old and In with the New

I realize I am a little late, but "Happy New Year's!" Wow, I cannot believe how fast 2010 just seemed to zoom by. And we survived another year of Jeremiah! As excited as I was to be able to send him back to school, my heart ached a bit because, hey, I love having him and the rest of his siblings around me.

December was an active month for Jeremiah-mischief-making. With all the Christmas decor, candy, presents, and annoying singing/dancing holiday thing-a-majigs, Jeremiah was in hog heaven as far as options of things to get into. I was beginning to sound like a broken record repeating:

*Don't touch that ornament, it'll break!
*Don't bounce that ornament on the ground, it's not a toy!
*Get off the counter and stay out of the fudge!
*Get off the counter and stay out of the cookies!
*Get off the counter and stay out of the candy canes!
*Just get off the counter!
*Do not unwrap that gift!
*Do not unwrap THAT gift!
*Do NOT unwrap that gift!
*Do not make that squirrel sing "I'm Gettin' Nuttin' For Christmas" again. Isn't 3,486 times enough already?
*Do not make that Christmas tree sing and dance for the 5,932 time today!

And there are so many more that I won't list because as I re-read over my current list I'm thinking, "Man, she's a mean mom!" Oh wait, that's me I'm talking about.

In spite of all the "fussing" that I seemed to do, we had a lovely Christmas. Jeremiah got his brand new TS3 bike and Ripster that he had been wanting. The last two and a half weeks have been spent dodging Jeremiah as he speeds through the house on his bicycle taking corners at way too high of speeds with the biggest grin I've seen on any little boy's face. He has even been gracious enought to let Lydia ride around on it some. And he has also been sharing his Ripster with Lydia as they both take on the accident prone adventure of learning how to balance and ride it. He also got a couple of Zhu Zhu pets which we have dilligently reminded him to keep away from his sisters' hair as well as his own. So far we have not had to make a visit to Jessica to give anyone a new "do", praise the Lord!

Now the new year has begun, and we are leaving the old year behind along with all the "incidences" that came with it. Jeremiah has started off the year in typical Jeremiah fashion. He snuck out of the house and locked himself out...TWICE with one time being in the rain. He climbed his dresser to inspect the contents of the shelf on the wall. He accidentally peed on Grampa while they were napping together...that one made me giggle. And on his first day back to school, he recieved his first not so good report from school because he didn't listen to his teachers and apparently had a bad case of ants in the pants during naptime because he couldn't seem to keep himself on his mat.

What can I say? I love that boy. Life would be so boring without him in the mix. New year, new adventures in surviving Jeremiah. Bring it!
